Here are two sets of stories that our research participants have shared with us, and are willing to share with you. Both sets of stories were told to daughters who were primary caregivers – one from a father and one from a mother. On the next two pages are brief outlines of the stories, and a summary paragraph of the themes we interpreted from those stories.
As you listen, see if you can figure out what the stories are trying to say. Is it possible to find a way to hear the ten stories for the meaning in them? Perhaps the ten stories offer those left behind a last opportunity to understand our loved ones, and to help them to leave the legacy they wish to leave.
